What is the difference between “share” and “publish” in my CK-12 account?

In your CK-12 account there are several ways to disseminate information, including sharing links via email, posting links on Facebook and Twitter, or downloading in these file formats: PDF, Mobi for Kindle, or ePub for Droid and iPad.

However, there is a difference between “Sharing” content and “Publishing” it.
If you “Share” a resource with another, it is by “invitation-only” and the recipient must be logged into their own CK-12 account in order to view it. This is a great way to broadcast interesting material to a private group of users easily.

“Publishing” is making your content available to the world – it becomes “public”. When you publish a resource, you are giving everyone access to view it or download in one of the support formats (ePub, PDF). Public content is searchable and discoverable by other users interested in that topic.
