Introduction

In previous Chapters, you have learned about descriptive statistics, probabilities, and distributions of random variables. In this Chapter, you will learn how to recognize whether two variables have a relationship; where one variable can accurately predict the values of another variable. This relationship is called correlation, and in this Chapter you will learn about linear correlation and writing equations of regression lines, which can be used to predict values of one variable based upon an explanatory variable.
