Chapter 5: Quadratic Equations

Difficulty Level: At Grade Created by: CK-12

In this chapter we explore functions that are no longer linear. We will introduce a quadratic equation or an equation where the largest xvalue is squared. In addition, we will learn how to solve a quadratic equation: by factoring, using square roots, completing the square, and the Quadratic Formula. We will also introduce complex, or imaginary, numbers. Lastly, we will analyze the graph of a quadratic and use it to approximate data.
