alpine (valley) glacier

A glacier found in a valley in the mountains.

bergschrund

A crevasse near the top of a glacier where moving ice below is separated from stagnant ice above.

continental glacier

A sheet of ice covering a large area that is not confined to a valley.

crevasse

A deep crack in a glacier that forms as a result of ice movement.
