## Table of Contents

Teachers and parents can access additional teaching materials from the Resources Tab above.

- 1. Algebraic Thinking
This chapter considers the basic principles surrounding algebra, including patterns, expressions, and equations. Additionally, students are introduced to the metric system and measurement as well as strategies for practical problem solving.

- 2. Using Decimals
This chapter deals with operations involving decimals, which are then applied to rounding, scientific notation, and manipulating and using the metric unit system.

- 3. Using Fractions
This chapter deals with fraction operations while also exploring the relationship between fractions and decimals. This lesson also explores customary units and how they compare with the metric system.

- 4. Using Integers
This chapter introduces students to the properties of integers and their rules of operation. Additionally, the lesson covers rational numbers, the distributive property, and the coordinate plane.

- 5. Using Ratios, Rates and Proportions
This chapter covers the concepts of ratios, rates and proportions. Also considered are slopes, cross products, and various problem-solving strategies utilizing proportions and unit analysis.

- 6. Using Percents
This chapter introduces students to percents, with emphasis on the relationship between percents and decimals and fractions. Other related topics covered are circle graphs, interest, and percent of change.

- 7. Equations, Inequalities and Functions
This chapter explores the properties of equations, inequalities, and functions, emphasizing the relationship the three concepts share. This lesson also deals with simplifying and evaluating these concepts both algebraically and with tables.

- 8. Geometry
In this chapter, students will learn all about angles, triangles, polygons, similar and congruent figures, indirect measurement, transformations and symmetry, and transformations in the coordinate plane.

- 9. Distance and Area
This chapter introduces students to concepts such as square roots and rational and irrational numbers before covering the Pythagorean Theorem and areas of parallelograms, triangles, trapezoids, and circles.

- 10. Surface Area and Volume
This lesson focuses on teaching the student about the surface area and volume of prisms, cylinders, pyramids, and cones.

- 11. Data and Statistics
This chapter introduces students to data management through the use of graphs and plots. Also covered are averages, basic statistics, and samples and surveys.

- 12. Probability
This chapter offers a basic introduction to concepts prevalent in probability-based problems. Topics such as events, the Counting Principle, and combinations and permutations are discussed.
