Nuclear Fruit

Trapped at the center of an atom, the nucleus is the positive counter balance to the negative electron portion. The nucleus is the mass center of the atom, with the electrons being incredibly light.

A nuclear pomegranate [Figure1]

Similarly to the seeds of this pomegranate the protons and neutrons are clustered at the center whereas the electrons are separated just as the outer peel is. The force holding the protons and neutrons in this case is the flesh of the pomegranate.

Creative Application:

1.What is contained in the nucleus?

2. Where  is  the nucleus located in the atom.

3. What holds the protons together in a nucleus?
