Can you learn about the Big Bang from a popular TV show? How about from the words of popular scientists set to music? The answers are yes and yes!

Why It Matters

  • Dr. Stephen Hawking is a theoretical physicist and cosmologist. Hawking has had amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) for 50 years. He has been on the forefront of his field and of popularizing science for his entire career.
  • Dr. Richard Dawkins is an evolutionary biologist. He is also an outspoken proponent of understanding the wonders of the universe through science.
  • Dr. Carl Sagan was an astrophysicist and cosmologist who famously wrote and narrated the 1980 television series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage.
  • Dr. Tara Shears particle physicist explains what matter and anti-matter met and annihilated each other in its first minute of existence.
