Live Volcano Web Cameras

Student Exploration

Is there a volcano erupting right now?

Check out these live webcams:

Which volcanoes are displaying images? Are any of them showing visible volcanic activity right now?

Extension Investigation

  1. From the volcano webcams featured on NOAA’s website, identify their locations on a world map.
  2. Pick five of the volcanoes and do some further research on them. Collect information about:
    1. The type of volcano
    2. The type of eruptions
    3. The stage (active, dormant, extinct)
Once your data is collected, compile on an interactive map with your classmates (use a Prezi or GIS program).
