How can we make our own lightbulb?

Learn how to make your own lightbulb!  Watch the video below or keep reading. To make your own light bulb, you will need wire with clips, a glass jar, batteries, graphite (pencil lead works well), and tape.  Take your batters and connect them in series using tape (put their ends together).  In a series circuit, the more batteries you have, the greater the voltage.  The total voltage is the sum of the individual batteries’ voltages.  Attach a wire to each end of the graphite stick and the other ends of the wires to the positive and negative sides of the battery circuit.  Change the number of batteries and thickness of the graphite in order to change the light bulb’s degree of brightness.   1. What are some ways you can change the brightness of the lightbulb?  What happens if you use a thicker stick of graphite?  What happens when you add or subtract batters?
  2. How would you calculate the voltage of your circuit?
  3. How would you calculate the current of your circuit?
