How can one get more nutrients to their gut bacteria?

Flexi Says:
Our own enzymes cannot digest many of the foods we eat. To break down these foods we have a gut full of trillions of bacteria. In the lower intestine, these bacteria derive their energy by finishing off digestion through fermentation or anaerobic respiration. A diet high in processed and cooked foods can lead to less diverse gut bacteria. This, in turn, can negatively affect overall health, including digestive and immune system functions, due to a lack of necessary nutrients in the system.
