These properties are not present in the individual components but they are seen only in the larger system. An example for this can be seen in higher level of organization in living organisms. Macromolecules which are a otherwise part of cell when combined invitro may or may not produce the same cell. In a living system, every level of organization (cellular, tissue, organ, organ systems) has its own structure and emergent properties.
