Flexi Says: The internal body temperature of an ectothermic animal depends on the temperature of their environment. Ectotherms are sometimes called "cold-blooded" to mean that they cannot raise their body temperature on their own. They alter their metabolic activities to some extent and use other strategies, such as the behavior of moving into sun or shade, or into other colder or warmer places. This is unlike endotherms, whose temperature is controlled from inside the body.
