Toothed whales are primarily high level carnivores or omnivorous carnivores that hunt prey, and include belugas, narwhals, orcas, porpoises, and dolphins. Baleen whales such as grey whales and right whales have modified baleen plates instead of teeth, which filter krill and tiny fish while the whale swims. Baleen whales generally feed on lower trophic levels than toothed whales.
