Flexi Says: If a body cell has 24 chromosomes before cell division then all the daughter cells resulting from mitotic division will have 24 chromosomes. That means all the body cells will be carrying 24 chromosomes. Since daughter cell resulting from the meiotic division will contain 12 chromosomes each. Thus the gametes will be having 12 chromosomes.
