Flexi Says: In simple Mendelian inheritance, alleles (versions) of a gene may be dominant or recessive. A dominant allele masks a recessive allele. This means that when an individual has one of each allele in their DNA, that individual will show only the dominant trait. Only individuals with two recessive alleles show the recessive trait.
