Flexi Says: Chloroplasts are the organelle of photosynthesis. They capture light energy from the sun and use it with water and carbon dioxide to make food (sugar) for the plant and oxygen. The plant cell needs both mitochondria and chloroplasts because if suppose mitochondria is not present in the plants, then there will be no oxidative phosphorylation to synthesize ATP as this process occurs in the mitochondria, due to which there will be no ATP production, and eventually the cell will die.
