Flexi Says: The human monkeypox is caused by a zoonotic orthopoxvirus. The disease is characterized by fever, headache, muscle aches, exhaustion, swollen lymph nodes and rash/lesions on the skin. The diagnosis for this disease is presently done through real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays.
