Flexi Says: Colloids are heterogenous mixtures where the particles are dispersed (spread) evenly throughout matter known as the dispersion medium. The dispersion medium of a colloid can be liquid, gas, or solid. When light is shown on the mixture, the dispersed particles block the light by quickly moving it in different directions (scattering). One example of a colloid you are familiar with is milk.
