Flexi Says: The Fick's law states that the net rate of diffusion of a gas across a permeable membrane is directly proportional to the difference in partial pressure of the gas across the membrane, directly proportional to the area of the membrane and inversely proportional to the thickness of the membrane. This is also the principle behind gaseous exchange that occurs in lungs as well as in tissues.
