Flexi Says: There are few basic methods for the measurement of evaporation. A tool called an evaporimeter can measure evaporation directly. A simple pan evaporation method can be used to determine evaporation rate by calculating the volume of water lost over time. Other methods are used to measure evaporation in natural conditions, such as from large bodies of water. One of these is called the pan coefficient method, which is used for measuring evaporation from a lake under identical climatic and exposure conditions. Evaporation stations measure the evaporation rate through the various gauges and other devices to get cumulative data.
