Flexi Says: A code is a set of symbols that is used to carry information. In biology, DNA carries the code that provides the cell with information about how to make proteins. This genetic code is universal for all living things on Earth. Each sequence of three nucleotide bases, called a triplet, corresponds to one of the twenty common amino acids. The triplets in a gene are read by the cell, one after the other, to assemble amino acids in the correct order to build a protein.
