Flexi Says: A continental tropical (cT) air mass forms over the central Mexican Plateau region and desert southwestern United States. This large cT air mass is hot and dry. The coastal areas of Mexico are affected by maritime tropical (mT) air masses that are moist and humid. One mT air mass forms over the Gulf of Mexico, and another forms over the Pacific near the west coast of Mexico.
