Flexi Says: Climate change, in general, refers to any change in average weather conditions on Earth that lasts for at least several decades. Short-term perturbations in climate, such as El Niño events, are not considered climate change. Earth’s climate has repeatedly changed in earlier epochs because of natural disturbances, such as massive volcanic eruptions and movements of continents. Over the past couple of centuries, the most important cause of climate change has been human actions that include burning of fossil fuels, use of fertilizers, aerosols, etc, which are causing an enhanced greenhouse effect and global warming.
