Flexi Says: Kepler-452b is the first near-Earth-size planet in the “habitable zone” around a sun-like star that scientists discovered. Currently, planetary scientists define the habitable zone as the area around a star where liquid water could pool on the surface of an orbiting planet. However, there is debate about the definition as it is not known whether any form of life on another planet would require liquid water. Kepler-452b was discovered in 2015. The Kepler-452 system is located 1,400 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus.
