Flexi Says: The Big Bang theory states that the universe was begun after a gigantic explosion that caused the universe to expand. Redshifting occurs when light is either moving away from an object, or the distance between the light and the object is expanding. Almost all of the galaxies in the universe have a redshift, which indicates that they are moving away, or continually expanding. In this case, redshifting can be considered evidence of the Big Bang theory.
