Flexi Says: About 5 to 7 million years ago, chimpanzees (our closest living relatives) and humans shared their last common ancestor. According to a group of scientists, a number of duplications in certain genes happened during this period which led to the separate evolution of chimpanzees and humans from these common ancestors.
