Flexi Says: Small stars are classified as dwarf stars. These include stars around the same size as our Sun and smaller. Our Sun is a yellow dwarf star on the main sequence. Red dwarf stars are also main sequence stars, but are cooler and typically older than our Sun. Apart from main sequence stars are white and brown dwarf stars. White dwarfs are the hot, dense cores of much larger, long-dead stars. Brown dwarfs are proto-stars that did not have enough mass to begin nuclear fusion.
