Flexi Says: The Moon is currently moving away from Earth at a very slow rate. Eventually, the drag on Earth's rotation will cause Earth and the Moon to have the same orbital period. At this point, the Moon would stop moving away from Earth and even begin to move back toward Earth. However, this wouldn't happen for many billions of years, longer than the expected life span of our Sun.
