Using CK-12 with

Canvas

CK-12 works seamlessly with Canvas. Teachers can use their classes already set up in Canvas and then can make assignments directly within that platform. Scores, detailed reports, and Teacher Insights are all available from within Canvas when students turn in their work.

Step 1

Install the CK-12 App

Install the CK-12 app in your school or district’s instance of Canvas by having your admin request a key/secret and install it for everyone. If using the free version independently, teachers can make this request.

Step 2

Assign CK-12 Resources

No need to set up separate classes in CK-12. Simply create a new assignment in Canvas, using the “External Tool” submission type when making an assignment. Then browse and assign a CK-12 lesson or resource that will show up in that class.

Step 3

Complete & Turn In Work

Students don’t need separate CK-12 accounts. They access each assignment directly in Canvas, complete their work, and turn it in.

When assigned to Google Classroom, scores are passed back to the gradebook. Full
CK-12 class reports with detailed assignment information and intelligent Insights for 2.0 lessons are accessible straight from Google Classroom.
